Occupational Therapy Team Story

During the recent COVD-19 pandemic, the NHS Western Isles Occupational Therapy Team saw lockdown open up opportunities to access learning that was never available before. It also allowed us to join meetings with colleagues nationally with the use of Webinars and Teams where travel would have previously restricted this access.

To connect, prioritise work and support each other as a team, Zoom and Microsoft Teams were utilised to connect with one another in Occupational Therapy Huddles. Despite the challenges posed, particularly with the team being dispersed in various locations on the Western Isles, we felt even more connected and supported as we utilised the wealth of technology available to meet like we were never able to before.

Throughout the pandemic these opportunities ensured that both we as a team remained connected, while the context we were working in grew ever more difficult. We as a team faced up to the challenges and became even more connected as a team.
