Dental Services SDM Journey - Strategy on a Page

We used a Strategy Deployment Matrix approach to look at what actions we could take to develop our team based on insights form our iMatter survey results.

Who took part

  • Dental staff from across all 4 sites including the Clinical Director and Head of Primary Care
  • Head of OD facilitated development session
  • Collective feedback from iMatter used to develop a bigger improvement plan

Our engagement index had improved since last year and our response rate, although good, had gone down.

Collectively, we thought that things would be even better if.......

  • We worked on even better team behaviours
  • We looked at improving planning and priority setting by establishing departmental goals
  • We looked at actions to improve communication between teams and to communicate and monitor actions better among ourselves

Our Next steps

  • To look at ways to improve our response rate for 2018
  • We are going to build on our matrix to create a more detailed Develop Dental Services SDM that will let us communicate and share our departmental goals
  • We will develop a Dental Services Newsletter to share news about our services between colleagues across our sites.
